Lynchpin 2005
Cloof's Bordeaux-style blend, which is named after the critically important role played in the blend by Cabernet Franc.
“Beautifully made. Very supple, elegant tannins give definition and breed. Very impressive. Try drinking from early 2007.” (David Peppercorn MW)
“Not only would I have been hard pressed to guess that Merlot was the driving force behind this gentle giant, I'd have struggled to spot the 14.5 per cent alcohol. Lush, but not too exuberant, with a savoury, plummy core and smoky, herby notes, this could almost be described as Chateauneuf-du-Pape meeting right-bank Bordeaux.” (Rated 92 points by Simon Woods in Wine & Spirit)

Duckitt 2006
Duckitt Merlot/Cabernet 2006
A barrel-aged blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon.
The name of this wine commemorates William Duckitt, who settled in Darling in the early 1800s, and who was the scion of one of the region’s most prolific families. Many generations hence Peter Duckitt is the viticulturalist responsible for the vineyards at Cloof and Burghers Post.
Its rich, concentrated style is as synonymous with Darling as the Duckitt family.
Cloof Cellar Blend
The Cloof Cellar Blend 2005
A wine to ward off evil spirits or an icy winter. Consisting mainly of press wine – the last drops pressed from the skins after fermentation – this blend is concentrated in the extreme. While the spiciness of French Oak lends an air of sophistication, this is not a wine that will be revered for its subtlety. The Quentin Tarantino remake of Sideways.
“I enjoyed the previous release of Cloof's chunky Cellar Blend, a wine made from press wine - the strongest must, squeezed from the grapes - in this case Shiraz, Pinotage, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cinsault. This 2005 edition has a typically robust nose, crammed with berry fruits and an earthy spiciness. There's a touch of eucalyptus here, and a smoky quality from 15% new French oak in the barrel ageing. On the palate this is bold, bloody and chewy, with a welter-weight of flavour and those big, rustic, chunky tannins adding an almost medicinal grip. This is great stuff, that's as honest as the day is long, and packed full of brawny personality.” (Tom Cannavan - www.wine-pages.com)

The Dark Side
The Dark Side Cabernet/Shiraz 2005
The Dark Side is all about hedonism – the pursuit of pleasure. We invite wine lovers to succumb to the hedonistic allure of gorgeously sensuous Cabernet Sauvignon entwined with Shiraz and the spiced vanilla of French Oak. A wine with curves where others don’t have places. Uninhibitedly richer, juicier, bigger, bolder – and proud of it.
“A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away … a wine came to the MLCC which held the promise of being full body and uncompromising character. Rich with turmoil, grown in the most extreme of conditions, this wine is commanding and alluring. Soon, you too will be drawn to ‘The Dark Side’. You don’t know the power of the Dark Side.” As big as the Death Star, as dark as Vader and as luscious as Princess Leia in a gold bikini from Return of the Jedi. Its impressive nose is driven by black fruit and spice, with a strong backbone of toasty cedar and vanilla that goes well with any barbequed meats. So tonight, be seduced by The Dark Side. Please enjoy responsibly, or you too will be consumed by evil.” (Sean Roberts, MLCC)

Inkspot 2005
Inkspot Vin Noir 2005
Awarded Four Stars in the 2008 John Platter Wine Guide and a Silver Medal on the Decanter Wine Awards!
“I can almost guarantee that once you start buying this wine, it won't collect dust on your shelves, it is so quaffable and a bargain at the price.” (Marilyn Cooper, Cape Wine Academy)
Inkspot – a wine of inky concentration with an unparalleled richness in the mouth. The prime expression of low-yielding, dryland bush vines.

Happy Dragon
Happy Dragon Pinotage/Shiraz 2006
The wine that tamed the thirst of a goat-eating dragon is reminiscent of the easy-going, spicy wines of the Mediterranean. Generous fruit and tannins with a gentle grip make this a wine for sipping or supping.
Great with goat!
